Essex Chambers of Commerce is a membership organisation for small, medium and large businesses operating in and around Essex. We hold regular networking events around the county, and are also authorised by the DTI to authenticate and certify Export Documentation, a service which is charged at half the normal rate for Chamber members. We also have local committees who meet on a regular basis to discuss local issues, and are affiliated to the British Chambers of Commerce.
Our Social and Environmental Activities
Essex Chambers strives to maintain ethical trading and is committed to cut down on waste within the workplace. E-mails are used as the main form of communication and received e-mails are only printed off if absolutely essential, printed double sided and in black & white. We have a comprehensive website, with a ‘Members Only’ area, and our directory and quarterly publications are available on-line. Membership can be applied for on-line, and all our events are booked this way too. With our offices 40 miles apart, we are always mindful of unnecessary journeys between the 2 sites, and keep travelling to a minimum. In our offices we try to use as much natural light as possible, and avoid lighting unoccupied office space. We actively recycle our paperwaste, shred documents on a regular basis, and have cut down to one main printer/photocopier per office to reduce multiple ink cartridge orders.
