Our Social and Environmental Activities

At Flourishing People, we recognise that all organisations impact on the society and the environment in which they operate in a variety of different ways. We have in place policies and procedures which aim to ensure that any negative impacts are minimised and that we use our capability to impact positively where possible.

We encourage our staff to consider ways in which they can make a positive impact on our society. As such they offer their time and expertise in a variety of ways which include:
• Volunteering (examples include School Governor, Mentoring in Schools, Young Enterprise Business Adviser)
• Making donations (we choose to support local charities operating in the fields of support for children and for people living with cancer)
• Undertaking or supporting sponsored activities and other fund raising events
• Purchasing goods from organisations that donate a percentage of their profit to charities (in particular breast cancer awareness charities).

As a minimum, Flourishing People will comply with any environmental legislation that applies to our business. In additional to this we endeavour to minimise the impact that delivery of our projects and services has on the environment where ever practicable, and to support any steps taken by our clients to do the same. Whenever possible the company encourages our staff to:
• Turn off lights and other electrical equipment when not in use
• Use reusable containers to transport materials and equipment
• File documents electronically to avoid the need to print off a hard copy
• Reuse waste paper in printers for internal purposes
• Use email rather than post
• Recycle paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, carrier bags, glass, food waste and ink cartridges
• Use public transport or car-share where possible
• Ensure our vehicles are serviced regularly to maintain maximum efficiency.

All associates working with us are briefed on our procedures as part of their induction with us.
