Feeding bellies not bins
Monday, January 15, 2018

Two members of staff have recently volunteered for The Good Plate in Earls Barton, part of The Real Junk Food Project (TRJFP). The aim is to intercept food which is unsaleable and redistribute to save waste. The two Directors, Kay Buckby, and Adrian Green, are now volunteers. Kay is writing marketing copy for local magazines for advocacy purposes, with the goal of finding more volunteers and donors. Kay also collects food from shops and restaurants, and helps at local events on the boutique table. Kay volunteers once a month in the cafe at The Good Plate - chopping vegetables and cooking. Adrian runs the front of house, meeting and greeting visitors to the cafe.
