At Kakadu Creative, we\'re passionate about our responsibility to the world around us. We donate a percentage of our profits to a range of charities each quarter. We calculate and offset our carbon emissions to ensure that we\'re not only carbon neutral but are actually carbon negative. We bank with an ethical bank (goodbye Barclays, hello Starling) and we run a paperless office.
We also limit company travel as much as possible, favouring running meetings via online tools such as Zoom, Skype or Microsoft Teams. We\'ve found that this not only helps us to limit our business\'s carbon emissions but that our customers enjoy the fact that they also don\'t have to travel to meetings and can use that saved time for work or pleasure.
Being a tech-based company, one of our biggest impacts on the environment is energy usage. Which is why we are with Green Energy UK. They deliver 100% renewable electricity and 100% green gas, keeping our carbon impact low. We offer a professional green hosting solution that helps businesses to reduce their digital carbon footprint without compromising speed or service.
When sourcing products and printing for our customers we opt to work with independent, local suppliers wherever possible. Ensuring that investment stays within local communities. We also look to use recycled, responsibly sourced and/or ethically manufactured sustainable products as a first choice.
Outside of the business, we volunteer with several local community groups. Our joint Director, Kayleigh, founded a litter-picking group in 2018 which has grown steadily and continues to work regularly to keep the town clean. She is also part of the local Town Council\'s Climate Action Group. She is currently working with a team to install the town\'s first bottle refill station and is discussing tree planting and wildflower schemes with local schools and education facilities.
